Questions

What EditPLR does, what it does not, and what is still being built.

About PLR

What is PLR?

Private label rights content is ready-made material — ebooks, articles, courses, planners — sold with a licence that lets the buyer edit it and publish it under their own name. It exists so you do not have to write from scratch.

Why does so much PLR go unused?

Because the gap between buying it and publishing it is bigger than it looks. The file arrives as a finished PDF, editing a PDF properly is awkward, the branding belongs to the seller, and a new cover means another tool. The pack ends up in a folder. That gap is the reason this tool exists.

Is PLR content allowed to be sold as my own?

It depends entirely on your licence. Most private label rights licences allow it; master resell rights and plain resell rights usually do not let you edit or claim authorship. See the licensing page.

Using the editor

Which file types can I open?

PDF. A PDF needs a text layer — a scanned page is a picture of text, and there is nothing to pull out of it. Word files (.docx) are not supported.

Why will my scanned PDF not open?

A scanned page is an image of text, not text. There are no characters in the file to recover. EditPLR does not do optical character recognition, so a scan gives nothing to edit.

What happens to the original layout?

It is deliberately left behind. You keep the content — headings, paragraphs, images — and the new document gets your design. Carrying the old layout across would mean carrying the seller's branding with it.

Does it rewrite the text for me?

No. It makes everything editable and builds the new file. The rewriting is the part that makes the result yours, and handing that to a machine would put you back where you started: publishing something that reads like everyone else's copy.

Can I replace the cover and the author name?

Yes — that is the core of rebranding. The new PDF is built from your blocks, so the cover, the name and the styling are whatever you set.

What about the table of contents?

It is generated when you export, from the document you actually produced. That way the page numbers match, which they would not if the original contents page were simply carried over.

Privacy and safety

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

Reading your PDF happens in your browser and makes zero network requests — that is measured, and you can verify it in your browser's network tab. PDF export is still being moved into the browser, so we do not yet claim the entire process is local. The privacy page separates the two plainly.

Do I need an account?

No. There is nothing to sign up for.

Does EditPLR check my licence?

No, and it cannot. It does not know what you opened or what rights came with it. Reading the licence is yours to do.

Status and cost

What does it cost?

Nothing is for sale yet. Pricing will be published when the tool opens properly, and there is no sign-up or waiting list in the meantime.

What works today?

Reading PDFs in the browser is built and tested — text, paragraphs, page furniture, image positions and image pixels. The editor is an early preview that opens a prepared file. Opening your own uploads and exporting in-browser are the steps still in progress.

Will there be a library of PLR content to buy here?

Possibly later, but the tool comes first. The problem being solved is editing what you already bought — not selling you more of it.
